what r the "computer services" i can provide to other firms with a start-up capital $200k?

Posted on May 19th, 2010 by admin

list the services according to the given budget; also, how much would the machine cost (approx.) to provide such services? thank u

You could develop websites - the computer to do that would cost in the neighborhood of $1,000.

If you’re thinking of providing web hosting, that won’t even pay your staff for 1 year, let alone the 3 years you should have capital for, and any other expenses (which will be considerable).

Are remote computer repair services safe to use?

Posted on April 3rd, 2010 by admin

I have had a problem with my laptop for ages now. It’s only a couple of years old it has got very slow. I have tried various repair software packages, but I have had no joy. I have now come across remote repair sites, which I would like to try - but I am worried that they could gather personal data (like passwords and bank details) from my computer. Are they safe to use and can anyone recommend one?.

I personally would be recommending one of the free computer help sites such as Bleeping Computer, Daniweb, Geeks To Go, Major Geeks or any of the other ones that have a good reputation. They all have one thing in common - they don’t access your computer at all. They give you instructions to follow and then have you post logs on the internet for them to look at. You can look through the logs yourself before you post them and see exactly what is in them because most logs open easily with NotePad.

They have no monetary interest in you or your computer so I think that makes them more trustworthy. If someone has nothing to gain by misleading you, they aren’t likely to bother. And you can check all those sites using Google and http://mywot.com and/or http://siteadvisor.com and see what is said about them. Of course, you can do that with the remote access ones as well but the benefit of using the other sites is that you’ll learn more while you do it yourself and all the info you need is usually available.

I’ve a number of sites listed in my profile if you want to try one of them.

Is there any way to Run two different DHCP Services on two separate network adapters on the same computer?

Posted on March 30th, 2010 by admin

I want to administer Two separate networks with two DHCP Services on the same computer with two network card.
Thank You.

Of course, but each interface would have to be connected to seperate Network hardware. The User system would request the IP from the Router, so if both Interfaces were connected to the same Router, you would just get 2 IP’s from the same Network.

I assume that with this question, you know how to "administer" A network, much less 2.

Anyone use one of those home delivery new computer services?

Posted on March 29th, 2010 by admin

Where you pay by the week for a new home computer. How are they? Is the computer up to date? Are they really expensive?

I would stay away from places like that. You are going to end up paying 3 times the value of the computer. And places like that do not have very good tech support. At a lot of stores now you can put things like computers on layaway. You can avoid the high interest and finance charges. So if you can get by with what you have now for 6 months you will be money ahead by putting a computer on layaway.

I plan to offer computer repair services, but I’m a technician, not a businessman. How do I get started?

Posted on March 11th, 2010 by admin

I need business and marketing advice. How do I get the word out, and what are some key advertising points?

Consider partnering up with a business that does marketing consulting specifically for computer repair businesses on a profit sharing basis (i.e. you only pay them if they bring in customers for you). BienTek is one business that does this. You should be able to find someone who is willing to help you without charging upfront fees. This way, you can continue to focus on what you are best at (technology).

how to delete unnecessary services and processes in computer?

Posted on March 4th, 2010 by admin

ok i have xp and 2gb ram but it consumes about 350 mb in idle state . is it normal. i want to delete some microsoft services and application services.but whenever i tried this my computer restarted . because some essential process had terminated. and it happens every time.

you need assistance of some software that are available in the market ,such as windows manager, tuneup utilities or any tweaking programs software.however, stopping services of something without the knowledge of how it affects the performance will have adverse effect.windows will not turn off services them self, you might have turned it off.you could get the knowledge of each and every service that is not required or most required by installing some tweak manager, and carefully go through its suggestions and turn it off or on, as according to your need.

Why do Zhotkey and Interactive Services boxes pop up on my computer?

Posted on February 24th, 2010 by admin

I’ve been experiencing this problem lately and I can’t figure out what to do. The "Zhotkey" message pops up then disappears. The "Interactive Services" box pops up and I X it out abut it comes right back in a few minutes. When I run my anti-virus program it does not indicate a problem but who knows. Could this mean there’s some sort of malicious or spy device on the computer?

Bid/Proposal For Computer Services for Police/Town Offices?

Posted on February 20th, 2010 by admin

I am about to Bid and Write up a proposal for Computer Services for a Police Station and Town Offices. The problem is, I don’t know how to price or write up a proposal for something like this. They have 4 offices, and a total of 25-30 Users/Computers a couple servers and various printers and other devices. The contract length is said to be 1-3 years.

Any advise would be greatly appreciated.

Speak to other companies who use computers, ring them. It could be just your local supermarket or bank or even another force. Ask plenty of questions. Its all about Market research.
