What all should I have on my computer services website?

Posted on October 9th, 2009 by admin

I kinda have my own little business that I’m starting. I’m not sure what all to put on my website. I do computer repair, web design, and computer upgrades. So what kind of pages should I have on the website? Thanks in advance.

put a selection of interesting web sites, have a theme for a week then change it~
pets~sport~puzzles etc
something to interest people~especialy the ones who do not require your services at the moment.By offering something of interest, they will keep returning to your site~which will keep your main buisness interest in their mind~then they will contact you on the day they need some IT advice
hope this helps

How much should I charge for computer repair services?

Posted on October 1st, 2009 by admin

I’m pondering the idea to start this computer company. But I don’t know the prices that computer guys charge for general services. So I need your help please. Tell me prices and charges that I can charge my customers, thanks very very much guys!

It depends on the kind of repair services you intend to provide.

For example, I run an LCD repair shop and charge a flat fee of $70 to repair a 15" monitor. This includes parts & labor, but excludes the panel.

For a 17-18" monitor, you can charge around $100-125

For repairing a notebook or 14" laptop screen a flat fee of $115 should be fair to both parties.

How can I backup a computer that is starting to crash and has limited services?

Posted on September 29th, 2009 by admin

I’m trying to back up a Vista computer. However, it’s starting to crash and numerous services cannot be accessed. Because Task Scheduler can’t start, the backup and restore program won’t let me backup. Is there another program (not downloaded from internet) that can do the same or is there a way I can manually back it up? And is there anything I can avoid backing up to prevent the crashing again?

Without seeing what happens when you try different things it’s going to be hard to be precise. If your computer is a desktop pc then you can try putting another harddrive with vista installed on it into your computer and booting from that partition. If you can do that and vista recognizes the breaking Harddrive, copy everything off that harddrive onto the new one.
Otherwise you just need to buy an external, plug it in and copy all of the files you want to keep off. If you have a spare internal HDD that you can use that would work as well.
If windows doesn’t let you use usb devices, won’t recognize the new harddrive you put in (or you don’t have one) then you could try networking your pc to someone else’s and then transferring files over that way.
After you have your data off the pc, then you just need to format it. If this doesn’t solve the problem its most likely a hardware problem and i can’t even begin to guess what would be causing that without having more detail.
Hope this was helpful :)

My computer will not automatically start up my services.?

Posted on September 27th, 2009 by admin

My computer doesent start up any of my services that are set to automatic. Can I change something im my running system to make them start up? Also every time i start up my computer it automatically logs me into administrator even you know i have a password on the account. Also how can I change that It will stop at the login screen?

Have you looked in the event logs to see if the services attempted to start and failed for some reason or are there no entries at all.

You can set the redundancy on any service in windows to restart the service up to 3x in the event it does not load properly initially on the Recovery tab.

what are your views about Satyam Computer Services’ Founder and Chairman B Ramalinga Raju ?

Posted on September 25th, 2009 by admin

He’s senseless man, never followed the principle of ‘honesty always pay’ & did all which was wrongly advised by his consultants whom he was paying in millions. To be a successful businessman or professional one has to follow the path of honesty, specially when you have foreign clients who only respect honest person or organization. Although the common believe amongst the western world that India & Indians are dishonest is further proved by the acts of people like Raju who have been profiled as the country’s representatives even before V.V.I.P dignitaries such as US president. When such person is found to be indulging in all sort of fraud & dishonest acts then the general opinion of a common Indian is further diminished on the scale of honesty before the rest of the world. I may on highest pitch keep on saying I’m an honest man but when I tell every one I’m an Indian my first statement itself is presumed as wrong & full of lies. He has been disgrace to all the Indians. What else I will say about this man holding foreign MBA degrees after all I hold only Indian law degrees.
