Hey there, thanks for this video, I have an old crock of a PC and the time and date had gone back in time.
You gave me the know how and confidence to change the battery for myself (at the grand cost of £1.00!!) instead of paying a technician to do it. Cheers, you’re a star!

lol another side note, for all windows you may need to update or patch the registry for the new DST rules (unless you live in Arizona lol.) Just google “windows dst fix”.

    Success! Now if …
Success! Now if your really picky about the time, since ANY clock will drift from time to time regardless, you could even use an app for old windows 98 (NIST Time Client) to keep the clock accurate to the microsecond. That capability exists out of box with post NT windows too. (2000, XP, Vi$ta)

    See if you can …
See if you can Google your motherboard for an owners manual.
Try unplugging the computer from the wall and pop out the CMOS battery for a while and put it back in.
Or find the BIOS reset button (push it in) or jumper (move it over one pin then move it back). I think that you would have to press motherboard reset while its on. Once again please consult the manual specifically for your mother board for the reset procedure before doing anything.
