it took me 2 months … it took me 2 months to figure out my problem.. I had to actually sit and take time to look at everything and be one with the computer.. and its true no need for a degree to fix a computer
conversely there … conversely there are also idiots working in Geek Squad, rest ured I’ve worked with a few, some of whom were demoted to the sales floor for their ineptitude, but the agent in this expose is a very sad reflection on Geek Squad, Bear in mind though I am in no way defending the cost of computer repairs its way too much and I would personally do it for a fraction of the price myself.
I work for … I work for GeekSquad myself and I think these videos expose one problem that does plague computer repair shops across the country and thats PROCEDURE, I know what on site tests to run from the get go but remember we are a business as well and running an MRI, accessing BIOS or opening the Tower are all a part of the Diagnostic Fee. I DO NOT open anyones computer for liability reasons until it is checked in, I could get written up or fired for that.
Back when I did not … Back when I did not know much about computers I took my old Compaq in for repair at Best Buy for $60 and we virus checked and it came back with bunches of trojans. The Best Buy employee must have been surfing for . So we bought a Mac at that point. Then I built my own PC which I can diagnose and fix myself, what d-bags these scammers are.
it took me a long … it took me a long time to learn computer trouble shooting so that i can pinpoint a problem quickly , that is price less knowledge that you have to pay for so what is a fair price free
you only hear about … you only hear about the bad ones. dont say “they” because people like me fall under the catagory of “they” and we dont do that. the people that work at these places dont know that much about computers (my friend tried to off the geek squad and told them his cd drive was bad and they said they couldnt fix it) some of these are serously they dont know

I’ve never had a problem with my Mac. :o)
If I needed a repair, I bring my Mac to an apple store and it’s fixed - no worry about some “third party scammers”.
No more PC’s for me.
