I fix computers part time. However, I recently read that if I advertise without a license, I can get into trouble. So my question is: 1. What are the prerequisites to apply for a business license for a computer repair license? 2. Do I have to pay taxes? What form do I use? I live in Houston, tx . Thanks you guys.

Looks like you need a Private Investigator’s license for the state of Texas. You’ll also have to pay State and Federal income taxes. You might use the 1040-EZ form.
